Headshot Prep Guide
- Solid colors are safest.
- Avoid fine tight patterns, and thin lines – it’s nearly impossible to photoshop wrinkles out.
- Bring clothing options, backups are always a great idea.
- Be sure everything is ironed and wrinkle free.
- Don’t worry about shoes. We shoot mid-chest up. (Unless you are doing a branding session).
- Bring a brush and hair product if you need to.
- Keep your makeup natural and light.
- You can always add more while on set, so bring extra makeup if you think you might need more or a touch up.
- Trim those nose hairs! ( and eyebrows, etc ). The most common issue for men.
- Use lip balm the day before and the day of your shoot. Dry, cracked lips are not a good look.
- Want to be clean shaven? Great, just don’t shave right before your shoot if you have red skin issues.
- Everyone has hangups about themselves. Be sure to communicate these to Jack before the shoot so he can address them with angles, lighting and photoshop.
- Do not wear white, if using a white background
- Do not wear black, if using a dark background
